MJ23 Moments Youth and Mentoring Program
MJ23 Moments Youth and Mentoring Program
We are pleased to announce the beginning of our Mentoring and Youth Program at the MJ23 Moments Museum. Our goals is to reach out to the youth to educate and build the self-esteem of the young kids. We created this dynamic program to align kids to their dreams and to explore their talents. This program will allow us to talk to kids about their daily struggles in an effort to point and keep them on the right path for success. Here are some of the things that will be achieved in our Mentoring and youth program.
- We will be teaching the kids how to create Jordan Masks. The creation of this will aid their creativity and their imagination.
- They will learn about different artifacts in the museum such as our sneaker collections, art gallery, Jordan masks, basketball cards, magazines and newspapers.
- Educate the kids on the History of Michael Jordan and basketball
- Engage the kids in conversations about sports, and their dreams for the future.
- Empower the kids for greatness, and to achieve their goals.
Our program will allow the kids to not only be a part of history, but to create history for themselves. The kids will have more than enough space to walk around, and see 25 years of Michael Jordan collections. All of our sneakers and items are all in its original condition. We will educating kids on how we preserve our sneakers so they will take better care of their own. Preserving and patience is our ongoing challenge, but our motto “Passion led us Here” is what fuels our desire to upkeep the museum all these years. To create our next generation of curators, artists, athletes, sports writers, is our mission. We believe kid’s exposure to the right resources is what allows them to shoot for the stars, and to push the limits of success. MJ23 Moments Museum will bridge the gap by using our museum to educate, create new ideas, and vision. Our children are being deprived by not having access to an amazing museum like this and we made sacrifices to have it open in Brooklyn. Both adults and children are amazed on our vast collection. We have changed our display multiple times to make sure we showcase all of our pieces.
We are located conveniently between the Grand Army Plaza Library, and the Barclay Stadium at 241 Prospect Place between Vanderbilt and Underhill. We have a huge space that can fit up to 80 children. We will provide paper work for the kids to take home, sneaker bands, snacks, and giveaways. In each session, we will have a contest, and a handful of kids will also receive hats, shirts, and hoodies from our H1 Premium Clothing line. We will available Tuesdays and Wednesdays for class trips, visits, and walk ins. During the time of the school trip, only the school and the teachers will have access in the space for privacy and safety. MJ23 Moments Museum is working on a summer program and possible internships. We want to thank Jah who is the owner of the building and Imperial Studios to allow us to have this open to the public.
